Frank A. Garcia, born on September 8, 1939, to Lorenzo Garcia and Utalia Pacheco, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Frank was a proud graduate of Morenci High School, Class of 1957. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served with distinction. As a Helicopter Crew Chief, Frank earned recognition as the youngest Crew Chief of the H-34 helicopters. His military service took him across the globe, with deployments to locations such as Hong Kong, Okinawa, and the Philippines. Throughout his four-year enlistment, Frank rose to the rank of Corporal (E-4) and was honored with the Good Conduct Medal before receiving an Honorable Discharge in July 1961.
After his military service, Frank transitioned to civilian life and relocated to Mammoth Arizona. It was here that he met Julia Lemus, whom he married in September 1962. Together, they had two children: Monica Lisa Garcia, born in May 1964, and Christopher Frank Garcia, born in October 1966. The family later relocated to Tucson, Arizona, where Frank continued to build his life.
In May 1975, Frank married Lydia Cervantez, a native of Morenci, Arizona. Together, they had one son, Patrick Frank Garcia, born in March 1978.
Frank, along with his family, co-founded "El Puente Bar and Grill," it is here where Frank and his family ran the daily operations and tended bar. It was at El Puente that Frank met and later married Natalia Sierra. The couple settled in York Valley, where they built their life together.
Frank spent the majority of his professional career with the Greenlee County Road Maintenance Department, where he rose to the position of Supervisor before retiring in 1998. In retirement, Frank enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors, engaging in his passions for hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends.
Frank is survived by his three children: Monica Garcia, Christopher Garcia, and Patrick Garcia; his grandchildren: Christopher Jr., Miguel, Lydia, Andres, and Lucero; his step-grandchildren Ivan and Kennadi; and his great-grandchildren: Aubriella, Olianna, Elias, Marilena, and Serenity. He is also survived by his beloved furry grandchildren: Shiloh, Luna, and Pita, as well as countless family members and friends.
Frank will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to family, his service to his country, and his generous spirit. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
