December 15, 1935 – March 26, 2026
Frank U Borquez, age 90, a proud father and loving grandfather, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Frank was born on December 15, 1935, in Tucson Arizona. He dedicated many years of service to the City of Tucson as a heavy equipment operator in the Streets Department, retiring in July of 1990.
Frank is survived by his grandchildren, Frank “Gordo” Borquez (Jami), Maricela Catalan (Isaiah), Fernando Borquez; son, Robert Borquez (Liz); Grandson Bobby Borquez (Genavie); Granddaughters, Maria and Miranda Borquez. He also leaves behind his beloved great-granddaughters, Lariyanna, Alisvanna, Eliyanna, Alicia and Aubrey.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe Borquez; Sons, Frank A. Borquez and Albert F. Borquez and Parents Antonia & Tito Borquez.
Frank had a deep love for sports that carried throughout his life. After retirement, he spent his time playing softball with the Bill Breck Dodge 60+ League and the Tucson Cowboys. Whether on the field or in the stands, “Tata Frank” was always present—supporting and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events.
He was also a devoted University of Arizona fan and proudly held season tickets to Arizona football for over 40 years. He cherished every moment spent tailgating, enjoying a cold Miller Lite, Church’s Chicken and sharing laughter and memories with family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Carrillo Tucson Mortuary on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM, with a Rosary at 2:00 PM. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine Cathedral, followed by burial at Holy Hope Cemetery.
Frank will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his passion for sports, and the joy he brought to all who knew him.
