Francisco Rene "Frank" Barceló, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at the age of 81 in Tucson, AZ.
A proud third generation Tucsonan, Frank lived a full life defined by love, laughter and loyalty.
A man who fiercely loved his family and friends, Frank considered his highest achievement in life as being the proud father of two sons Marc and Rich, and as the loving grandfather of five amazing and beautiful granddaughters: Isabella, Grace, Logan, Milan and Macy.
Frank was a gregarious and fun-loving man, never missing an opportunity to make people laugh, effortlessly putting strangers at ease with his humor, thus building long-lasting relationships with many of them. If ever he came upon a group of people gathered together, Frank couldn't resist joining them and sharing his "Mexican Word of the Day" jokes. He loved to play golf and to party.
Frank's outgoing personality served him well as a talented, hard-working salesman.
From a very early age selling Superior Sun newspapers in Superior, AZ to selling Baker's Shoes after graduating from Tucson High School in 1962 and while attending the University of Arizona, to selling Florsheim Shoes in San Francisco, CA and financial products for Security Pacific National Bank in Huntington Beach, CA. Before moving back to Tucson, Frank sold printing equipment for Scriptomatic, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA where he gained recognition as the top salesman in 1974. He then moved back to Tucson and established his agency for State Farm Insurance in Tucson, owning it for over 32 years until retirement.
His unwavering sense of loyalty to God, family, friends, clients, and to his country endured until the very end of his life. He honorably served in the U.S. Army Reserves as a medic during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus of St. Pius X Church.
Frank is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cristina P. Barceló; sons Marc Barcelo (Rita) of Palmetto, FL and Richard Barcelo of Houston. TX; granddaughters Isabella Barcelo, Grace Barcelo, Logan Barcelo, Milan Barcelo and Macy Barcelo; his brother Cosme J. Barceló II, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews from the Ivanoff, Rodriguez, Lopez, Moreno, Goodman, Bourland, Castillo, Lindberg, Terrazas, Araiza, and Barcelo families.
In addition to his parents Cosme J. and Maria Luisa Barceló, he is preceded in death by his sister Maria Christina Barcelo Evans, his brother Luis Rodolfo "Rudy" Barcelo, his granddaughter Gabriella Barcelo and his nephew Cosme J. Barceló III.
