IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Filiberto Q.
Felix, Jr.
February 2, 1935 – February 25, 2026
Beloved, Filiberto Q. Felix, Jr, or better known as “Phil the Barber!” has passed away at the age of 91, at his home surrounded by his wife and children. Born in 1935, Phil was a 3th generation Tucsonan with a large extended family. Phil is well known as the head of his loving family, the owner of Phil’s Barber Styling Shop and the hundreds of friends he made along the way in life.
Born in 1935 in his Grandmother’s house on Convent Street, in Barrio Viejo, Downtown Tucson, Phil originally attended Tucson High School and then transferred to and graduated from Salpointe Catholic High School in 1954. While at Salpointe, he was very proud to earn Salpointe’s very first Sports Trophy in 1952, “Tucson Prep Player of the Year.” And in 1997, he was inducted into the “Salpointe Athletic Hall of Fame.” He married his high school sweetheart & cheerleader, Rose Trezza, and served as a proud Veteran in the US Air Force. He opened his Barber shop soon after returning home and ran it for over 55 years.
But his proudest and happiest achievement was being married to Rose and having his big family. Family was EVERYTHING to him. He had a unique and special relationship with each and every one of his family members complete with nicknames and inside jokes. He enjoyed Arizona college sports, tailgating, camping, fishing, trips to Mt. Lemmon, throwing BBQ’s and gathering with family and friends for Notre Dame game nights. Phil always had a “saying” for any occasion or situation and he left behind many words of wisdom for us. He was the most positive man and always welcomed you with a great big hug. He will be dearly missed but will always be on our minds and in our hearts.
Phil is survived by his beautiful wife of 71 years, Rose Trezza Felix, His children: Rosemary Chacon (Edmundo), Angela Faruolo (John), Tony T. Felix (Lynne); Two of his children preceded him in death, Phil T Felix III and Christina Marcsisak. He is also survived by dozens and dozens of Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Filiberto P. Felix, Sr. and Guadalupe Quihuis Felix; his brother Tony Q Felix and sister, Lupita Felix Castillo.
