Tucson Native, Federico T. Valdenegro (74) was born March 6, 1949 and passed away July 15, 2023. He was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Manuela Valdenegro Salazar.  He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wilma Valdenegro; step-daughter, Marilou McCullah (Jeff); son, Marcelino Valdenegro (Phyllis) and grandchildren, Andrew Salazar (Kylie), Maihalani Valdenegro (Seth), Jasmine Salazar (Colin), Roselani Valdenegro (Adrian), and Marcelino Valdenegro Jr.

Federico was a graduate of Tucson High Magnet School and shortly after enlisted in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman "Doc".  He deployed to Vietnam in 1970 and served with Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines where he earned the Bronze Star with Combat "V" and the Purple Heart.  He retired after 20 years of honorable service.

On June 16, 2012 Federico received the Sacred Order of Diaconate with the Diocese of Tucson and was formally appointed to diaconal ministry at St. Margaret Mary's parish.
