Ernest E. Reyes, age 80, gracefully departed on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Banner UMC Hospital, succumbing to heart complications.

A native son of Tucson, Arizona, Ernie was a proud graduate of Tucson High School and later earned his Associate's degree as an X-ray Technician. Throughout his career, he dedicated himself to healthcare, retiring from institutions such as Kino Hospital in Tucson, as well as hospitals in Sells, Arizona and Douglas, Arizona. Ernie's early adulthood was marked by his service in the United States Navy, a commitment he held dear.

Ernie leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and family. His cherished wife of 57 years, Martha Reyes; daughters, Dolores (Lolie) and Marcela; son, Sergio, and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ernie embodied the essence of a loving patriarch, finding joy in providing for his family and sharing in their adventures. His passion for travel, meticulous care of his yard, and unwavering commitment to watching "Law and Order" made him a beloved figure in his household. Known for his culinary prowess, his signature dishes will forever satiate the hearts and appetites of those he leaves behind.

His sarcastic sense of humor, feistiness, and stubbornness served him well throughout his life. Even in his final moments, Ernie remained a beacon of resilience and fortitude, guiding his loved ones through life's challenges.

A celebration of Ernie's life will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2024 commencing with a memorial service at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm, followed by a gathering from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #180  1530 N Stone Ave, Tucson, AZ 85705.
