Emma Mendoza Rojas (93) of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Born on December 20, 1932, in Altar, Sonora, Mexico, she was the daughter of Jesus and Gertrudis Mendoza. She married Richard J. Rojas, starting a long journey together that would grow into a loving family and lasting legacy.

Emma was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was cherished by many and selflessly gave to her family, grounding them through every season of life. Emma's warmth and strength left a lasting impression on everyone she touched, and her legacy of love will be carried in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Frank (Olympia) Rojas and her daughter, Denise (Edward) Ortiz; her grandchildren, Jessica, Maritza, Richard, Jesse, Cynthia, and Edward; her 9 great-grandchildren; her brother and sister, Antonio and Bertha; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Rojas; her parents; and her 10 brothers and sisters.

In honor of Emma, we ask that everyone wear colors or floral in place of traditional black to celebrate her life.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, with visitation and rosary starting at 8am at Carrillo Tucson Mortuary, followed by mass at 10am at St. Mary Margaret Catholic Church, with interment at Holy Hope Cemetery following mass. A reception will follow at a location to be determined.

Nacida el 20 de diciembre de 1932, en Altar, Sonora, México, fue hija de Jesús y Gertrudis Mendoza. Se casó con Richard J. Rojas, comenzando un largo camino juntos que se convertiría en una familia amorosa y un legado.

Emma fue una esposa, madre y abuela devota. Fue querida por muchos y se entregó profundamente a su familia, guiándolos en cada etapa de sus vidas. La calidez y fortaleza de Emma dejaron una huella imborrable en todos los que la conocieron, y su legado de amor será llevado en los corazones de quienes la conocieron.

Le sobreviven su hijo, Frank (Olympia) Rojas y su hija, Denise (Edward) Ortiz; sus nietos, Jessica, Maritza, Richard, Jesse, Cynthia y Edward; sus 9 bisnietos; su hermano y hermana, Antonio y Bertha; y muchos sobrinos y sobrinas.

Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo, Richard J. Rojas; sus padres; y sus 10 hermanos y hermanas.

En honor a Emma, pedimos que todos se vistan de colores o estampados florales en lugar del negro tradicional para celebrar su vida.

Los servicios se llevarán a cabo el jueves 28 de mayo de 2026, con la visitación y el rosario comenzando a las 8am en Carrillo Tucson Mortuary, después sigue la misa a las 10am en la Iglesia Católica St. Mary Margaret, con el entierro en el Cementerio Holy Hope. Una recepción seguirá en un lugar por determinar.
