In Loving Memory of Elvira Acuna Ballesteros
March 27, 1933 – April 1, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elvira Acuna Ballesteros on April 1, 2025, at the age of 92. Elvira was born on March 27, 1933, in Ocampo, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Jose Acuna and Santos Moreno. She later moved with her family to Cananea, Sonora, where as an adult, she met and married Wenceslao Ballesteros. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising three sons and two daughters.

In 1964, Elvira and her family relocated to Agua Prieta, Sonora, and in 1989, they moved to Douglas, Arizona, where Elvira spent the remainder of her years. As her health declined, she was lovingly cared for by her daughter, Maria Ballesteros, splitting her time between Tucson and Douglas.

Elvira is preceded in death by her parents, her four brothers, three sisters, and her beloved husband, Wenceslao Ballesteros. She is survived by her children: Miguel (Ana Delfia) Ballesteros, Maria Luisa Ballesteros, Jesus (Jaqueline) Ballesteros, Rita Yolanda Ballesteros, and Daniel (Ana) Ballesteros. Elvira's cherished legacy also lives on through her 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Elvira was the pillar of her family, a woman of incredible strength, love, and perseverance. Her unwavering dedication to her family and the values of love and unity she instilled in them will never be forgotten. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
