IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elodia G
Ballesteros
May 9, 1933 – May 30, 2022
Elodia Ballesteros, 89 passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home. She was born in La Mesa Sonora Mexico to Matilde & Carlos Gallegos. She was 1 of 6 siblings. She was raised in Imuris where her father served as Chief of Police.
In Imuris is where she met the love of her life, Roberto A. Ballesteros whom she married 10/12/1952 at the young age of 19. They came to Tucson to start their own family. They had 6 children, Carlos (Susan), Robert (Maria Jesus), Gustavo†, Rodolfo (Teresa), Yolanda† and Leticia. She had 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, mother, father and all but 1 of her siblings, her son, daughter and granddaughter.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved her but most of all by her companion pet, Chavo. He had been with her 24/7 for the past 10 years. Her pass time was doing jigsaw puzzles and word search. She loved family gatherings, singing, joking and laughing with all. If she didn't remember the words to a song, she made up her own. She joked until the last. When transport came to get her at the hospital to take her home for Hospice, she told the transport guys "Yo soy como soy y no me paresco a nadien".
Madre, nana, abuelita, our hearts are broken but we know you are in a better place; singing in Heaven as you sang here on earth with us. We'll be ok as the hummingbird came to visit as they took you away. We will heal as we know you are watching over us.
From your daughter,
My Mind still talks to you,
My Heart still looks for you,
But my Soul knows you are at peace.
