Edward "Ed" Yslas Gomez, 75, passed away on November 8, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona.
Born in the same city he called home throughout his life, Ed was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose presence brought warmth and strength to those around him. Ed shared a loving marriage with his wife, Sarah Gomez. Together they built a life rooted in care and commitment. He was the proud father of two sons: Edwardo Gomez and his late wife Angie Gomez, and Michael Gomez and his husband Ray Stacy. Ed's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Alejandro Gomez and Araceli Gomez, who is engaged to Daniel Montoya.

Professionally, Ed dedicated over five decades to the electrical trade. A proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local #570 for 55 years, he built a respected career as an electrician. He later served as the Electric Shop Supervisor for the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD), where he brought leadership and expertise to countless projects before retiring.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ed was a passionate advocate for education and community heritage. He played an active role in preserving the legacy of Pueblo High School through his involvement with the Pueblo High School Hall of Fame Committee. His commitment extended further as a member—and two-term President—of the Pueblo Alumni Association. His efforts helped foster pride and connection among generations of alumni. He was honored with the Pima County Community Leadership Award in 2020, a distinction recognizing his exceptional dedication and impactful service to the community.
In his leisure time, Ed found joy in fishing—a pastime that brought him peace and reflection throughout the years.
