December 27, 1958 – July 1, 2025
Edward Durazo, affectionately known as Eddie, was called home unexpectedly on Tuesday July 1st. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Eva Durazo, his brother, Michael Durazo & his nephews, Michael & Alexander Durazo.
Eddie was a member of Saint Augustine's Cathedral, a Eucharistic Minister & was known for having an unwavering faith in God. Eddie was an avid outdoorsman. He loved camping, hunting, fishing & boating at Apache Lake, cooking, grilling, riding his Harley, traveling & spending time with his family. He also loved being a dog Dad to Eli. He often spent his spare time with his sister & confidant Cindy; there wasn't much they didn't do together. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the City of Tucson for over 30 years making many friends. He was also involved in DesTRUCKtive Truck Club, often raising money for charities.
Eddie is survived by his sister & best friend, Cynthia Sanchez (Javier) his son, Angel Durazo (Sonya), grandchildren; Lenayia, LillyBell & Anthony Durazo. He also leaves behind nieces & nephews who adored him dearly. Among them are Mariah Early, Shawn Glesinger (Araliya), Nicole Glesinger (Jason), Shannon Glesinger (Meadows), Adrienne Schwartz (Jason), Carlos Durazo & Alexandria Jones (Derrick). Eddie was a proud Great Uncle to Deus, Mila, Lily, Nico, Elwyn, Amelie, Indiana, Charlie, Carlos Jr, Odessa, Oona, Ezran & Great, Great Uncle to Emilano. He leaves behind many other family members & friends who will miss him dearly.
A Hawaiian themed Celebration of Life will be held on July 9th, 2025, from 4 pm to 8 pm at BrickBox Brewery, located in downtown Tucson, AZ (220 E Broadway Blvd, 85701). Parking can be found at the Depot Plaza Garage (closest location): 45 N 5th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85701 or surrounding neighborhood.
The viewing & rosary will be located at Carillo's Tucson Mortuary, in the North Chapel on July 10th, 2025, from 8:45 am to 9:45 am with a rosary starting at 9am. Mass will begin at 10am next-door at Saint Augustine's Cathedral, followed by a procession to Holy Hope Cemetery located on Oracle Rd for burial. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Toys for Tots Tucson in Eddie's Name.
