IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dora C.
Romo
April 16, 1935 – January 13, 2025
Dora C. Romo, 89, passed away on 1/13/2025. She was born on 4/16/1935 to Jesus and Maria Anita Castel De Oro and grew up in the historic Kroeger Lane neighborhood in Tucson. At the age of 19 she went downtown to the Lyric Theater and was introduced to a young man. On July 7th, 1956, she married the young man she met and began her journey with her husband, Joe "Coy" Romo that lasted 68 years.
Dora loved and supported her family very much and would attend as many of their baseball games, school functions and milestones as she could. Her voice could be heard, above all others, cheering for her children and grandchildren. When you went to her home you always felt welcomed, and you never left hungry. She was an amazing cook, and she made you feel as if she cooked just for you. As busy as she was throughout the day, she always made time to tend to her garden, watch her favorite Novelas and cheer for her Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Diamondbacks.
Dora is survived by her husband, Joe "Coy" Romo, and her children, Maria Anita Stacy (Raymond), Patricia Romo Nerini (Michael), Joe Romo Jr., Ernie Romo (Kelly), Rosanna Quihuis (Rene), and Rene Romo (Andrea); grandchildren, Kevin, Cynthia (Carlos), Yvonne (George), Jeanette, Tina, Jessica (Joseph), Michelle, Joseph, June (Jeff), Ernie (Kathleen), Adam (Anna), Stefani (Hector), Chris Q (Adrianna), Jaelyn, Rene Jr. (Brenda) and honorary grandson, Casey. Dora is also survived by her 20 great-grandchildren and her sister, Erlinda Quihuis.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Maria Anita Castel De Oro; Brothers, Jesus "Hito", Armando; Sisters, Hortencia, Armida, Lydia, Leonor.
A special thanks to her caregiver, Gloria Huesca and Dependable Health Services.
May she rest in peace.
