Obituary

Connector. Daughter. Momma. Partner. Trailblazer.

That is who Dora Nancy Lopez is and what her legacy will forever be cemented as. My mother transcended her life here on Earth on February 17th, 2025. Dora was able to be in the serenity of her family home and received was she has always wanted and deserved, peace.

Dora was born in Tucson Arizona in the early afternoon and from then on, her energy and light was unlike what this world has seen. Born to her parents Clemente and Hortensia Lopez, along with her grandparents Mercy and Ramon Rosthenhausler. Dora is Mexican American and her connection to her family and loved ones it truly a sight to be seen. Her love and tenacity are palpable.

Dora's legacy will be carried on through her mother Hortensia (Tenchi) Lopez, her partner Alfredo R. Cuestas, her son and only child Alfredo (AJ) Jesus Cuestas and her family whether that be blood or connection based.

Her education was the beginning of her impact. Dora is a proud warrior from Pueblo High School in which she was placed in High Regards. She strived and completed several certifications from college curriculum that advanced her in her career. As she may have started as an employee at Hallmark, her work ethic and determination for independence separated her from the pack.

Dora's career mainly was in the medical field, where she carried a reputation as a reliable, resourceful and adaptable worker. She started her career in medicine as a Medical Coder at Tucson Internal Medicine but has touched the lives of many across Tucson Arizona throughout different businesses. Through trials and tribulations Dora has overcome several adversities in the medical industry related to gender, race and preconceived notions of what a woman can do. Alongside her career (at times two full-time jobs) she was a caregiver to her loved ones and the backbone for the family.

My mother lived a life full of color, vibrance and happiness. Whether it was a late night dancing her shoes off, or baking delicious food for her loved ones, Dora's presence is bright. If she was in a crowd, you would hear her laugh before seeing her, it is infectious and from the heart.

Dora Nancy Lopez, as she said herself, is fighting to see her son excel. She raises him to know that he should, "Stand For Something or Fall for Anything". Both Dora and her son understand that "Education is the one thing no one can take away from you". Her son now carries his mother's resilience and determination to show the world that one person can make a difference.

My mother had a life full of love and experiences, but never ran away from the harsh truths that this Earth can bring. She is a survivor of Renal Cell Carcinoma. The outcomes in her life never had control over her and my mother knew, above all else, to have faith, be kind and

know that her life is meaningful. I thank God and her team of empathetic medical professionals for aiding in my mom's never-ending passion to live a life that is worth living.

Dora Nancy Lopez is enough, more than enough. I pray that those who have had the privilege of knowing my mother can feel the pure energy and light she shines, even to this day. May my mother, Dora Nancy Lopez rest in peace, power, and prestige, while knowing that her legacy is incomparable.

My mom says, "We are here to love and be loved" and to be loved by her is to feel everything!
