Obituary

Dominick Richard Ramos passed away on December 6th, 2024, at the age of 54, peacefully at home in Tucson, AZ, surrounded by his wife, Elaine Soulik-Ramos, and loved ones. He was the oldest of four siblings and a devoted Christian who loved God and his Church deeply.

Dominick was a man of many talents and passions. He earned an Associate Degree in Technology and later a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix. An eternal learner and "professional student," he excelled as an adjunct faculty member at Pima Community College, teaching computer programming and inspiring many students. Dominick worked in technology, helping people navigate new devices and software with patience and care. His expertise spanned programming languages like Visual Basic, C++, HTML, and Java, and he was proud to contribute source code for proprietary software systems.

Dominick's curiosity and intelligence were unmatched. He had a deep knowledge of fighter jets, particularly his favorites, the Blue Angels. He loved listening to music, watching movies, and sharing trivia about the things he loved. Among his favorite pastimes was watching MASH*, a show he cherished for its humor, wit, and heart—a reflection of his own personality.

Dominick also loved to talk—and boy, could he talk! If he had something to say, he would do everything in his power to keep the conversation going. He knew just how to make you stay a little longer, often keeping friends and family "hostage" with his stories, laughter, and endless enthusiasm. For Dominick, every conversation was an opportunity to connect, share knowledge, or brighten someone's day, and his gift for talking will be remembered with a smile.

He was preceded in death by his mother, RoseMarie Figueroa Ramos; his grandparents, Henry and Delia Figueroa; and Jose and Victoria Ramos. He is survived by his devoted wife, Elaine Soulik-Ramos; his father, John Ramos; his loving siblings, John Gabriel Ramos (Mirna), Bernadette Maldonado (Frank), and Sarah Ramos (Austin). Although Dominick had no children of his own, he adored his nieces and nephews, speaking about them with pride and joy.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the skilled and compassionate staff at Mountain View Care Center and the team at Aria Hospice Comfort Care for the kindness and support they provided to Dominick during his final journey. Your care brought great comfort to both him and his family, and we are forever grateful for your dedication.

Dominick passed away due to complications from diabetes and chronic kidney disease, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and knowledge. Unfortunately, his illness resulted in significant hospital expenses now shouldered by his wife, Elaine. If you feel moved to honor Dominick's memory by supporting Elaine during this difficult time, any contributions would be deeply appreciated.

Dominick's life was a testament to kindness, faith, and unending curiosity. His laughter, conversations, and stories will echo in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be missed beyond measure but remembered with love, a smile, and perhaps a rerun of MASH*.
