IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Delia Martinez
Orci
October 30, 1928 – April 26, 2025
Our beloved mother and matriarch of our family, Delia M. Orci, passed away at home after a brief illness. She went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on April 26, 2025, at the age of 96. Preceded in death by her husband, Enrique G. Orci (2019), her parents, and siblings.
Born in Tubutama, Sonora, Mexico, on October 30, 1928, she lived a life of service from the time she was her hometown's teacher at the age of 15, supporting her parents and siblings, being a devoted wife for 61 years, as a caring mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother until her final days. Her unwavering Catholic faith guided every moment of her life of love and compassion for all. She served her local church in Tubutama as a young lady and continued to serve her longtime parish of St. John the Evangelist for over 62 years after getting married and moving to Tucson. During these years, she was involved in the Cursillo Movement, the Perpetual Adorers, the offertory counting team, was a daily Mass communicant for many years, and a founding and still an active member of the parish Legion of Mary group for 50+ years.
She is survived by her children, Alma Delia (Bobbie) Shenk, Enrique III (JoAnn) Orci, Rev. Ernesto Orci, Eneida Orci. Also survived by nine grandchildren, Fabian (Astrid) Shenk, Celeste (Robert) Rodriguez, Stephanie (Jaidev) Amrite, KaSandra (Marcos) Blanco, Skyler Shenk, Daniel Orci(+1990), Michelle (Abril) Orci, Alexis (Emilio) Garcia, Enrique Orci IV and twelve great-grandchildren, Leyla Cortez-Shenk, Luna Cortez-Shenk, Aubrianne Mobley, Vittoria Blanco, Misael Rodriguez, Natalya Rodriguez, Noah Rodriguez, Maximiliano Garcia, Eli Rodriguez(+2022), Daxa Amrite, Sebastian Rodriguez and Baby Boy Garcia is on the way in June 2025.
Delia was a woman of incredible faith, love, and hospitality to all she met and those who visited her home. No one went away without being fed or at least offered a cup of coffee. She included everyone she knew in her daily prayers as an act of her loving and giving way of living life.
