Obituary

David S. Lomeli, born on December 5th, 1958, passed away on February 12th, 2025, at home in Tucson, Arizona, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and cherished memories. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Dimas and Martha Sanchez Lomeli.

David was raised in a close-knit family that laid the foundation for his resilient character. Growing up surrounded by the warmth of his four loving sisters—Lupe, Martha, Angela, and Maggie—and his brother, Rick, David learned the values of hard work and determination from an early age. In high school, David was an avid cross-country runner who formed lifelong friendships with his teammates Roy H., Ruben O., Coach Mielke, and many others.

Following high school graduation, David enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a Missile Systems Analyst on the B-52 aircraft. After completing his service, he returned home and met the love of his life, Lizzette Garcia. From that moment on, they were inseparable, and a legacy of love and support would follow.

David would go on to briefly work in the copper mines in Tucson, following in his father's footsteps. He then pursued higher education at the University of Arizona, where he set the foundation for a long and successful career while also setting the precedent for his sons. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 1983 with a degree in Management Information Systems and earned his Master's degree from the University of Phoenix in 1989. Following graduation, David began his career at General Dynamics, where he provided COBOL programming support and served as a project manager. He then expanded his horizons at Hughes Aircraft in various roles—an organization that later became part of Raytheon. From 1996 to 2017, David made meaningful contributions at Computer Sciences Corporation, which has since evolved into DXC Technology. Later, he served in roles at several distinguished companies, most recently at Gainwell Technologies, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and the industries he served.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, David's true fulfillment came from his family. With his devoted wife, Lizzette Lomeli, he built a legacy of love and adventure, enriching the lives of their three sons—David Jr., Rene, and Christian—who were his greatest pride and joy. He loved the thrills of driving his beloved Porsche with the top down along the coasts of California, the music of the Gypsy Kings blasting, and playing pool. While his children grew, he could be seen with them racing RC cars at RC Speedway, boogie boarding in California, golfing, taking countless trips with the kids to Disneyland, caring for his beautiful grandson, Jackson, and sharing long walks with his wife. David's happiest moments were those spent with his family, his beloved Pomeranians, and in the simple joys of life.

David is survived by his devoted wife, Lizzette Lomeli; his children, David Jr., Rene, and Christian; and his sisters, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
