Daniel Lee Jacobs was born January 19th, 1938, at the Storks Nest in Tucson AZ and joined our heavenly Father on May 3rd, 2026. He was a proud descendant of the Tucson Pioneer Carrillo-Jacobs Family.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Charlotte Mae Jacobs; Children, Daniel Lee Jacobs Jr (Cherie), Emil Charles Jacobs (Leah), Lisa Ann Jacobs (David); Grandchildren, Matthew Jacobs (Tonya), Rachele Jacobs, Grant Jacobs, Amanda Jacobs, Jessica Jacobs (Jordan); and Great Grand Daughter Maya Rose Jacobs; sisters Hermelinda Jacobs, Isola “Shaggy” Jacobs, Wera Jacobs, and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Daniel was preceded in Death by his Father Alfonso C. Jacobs Sr, Mother Beatrice “Anna” Zubillaga Jacobs, Stepmother Eliza Yrineo Jacobs, Brothers Alfonso “Ponchito” Jacobs Jr, Leopoldo “Polo” Jacobs, and sister Leticia L. Jacobs.
In his younger years, Daniel enjoyed coaching Tucson Youth football and baseball, taking his family on camping/fishing trips and hunting with the “boys”, creating many treasured memories along the way.
Daniel deeply valued the lifelong friendships he made, both at Roskruge and as a proud graduate of Tucson High, in 1957. He was actively involved in coordinating Catalina/Tucson High School reunions.
Social gatherings, fiestas and even everyday interactions were made more interesting with his colorful stories and vivid historical recollections of growing up during the early years of what would become the great city of Tucson. Above all, he deeply loved and cared for his family and friends.
Daniel proudly worked for the City of Tucson for over 45 years. He honorably served his country in the Army National Guard and the Naval Reserve Seabees for 30 years.
He will be remembered most for his knowledge of Mexican/American history, love of Arizona sports, and authentic Mexican food.
We love and miss you Dad, we will never forget the memories, love, and laughter you brought into our lives.
You taught us the importance of commitment to family, friends, and community. Your kindness, strength, and the joy for life will remain in our hearts forever. You will be deeply missed and remembered always.
