It is with tremendous sorrow that we announce the passing of our sweet mom/wife Cris Suarez-Vizcaya on 3/28/2024 in Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her father (Armando), mother (Victoria), & brother (Michael "Eddie" Suarez) (Maria).

She is survived by her beloved husband, James Vizcaya; her sister Yolanda (Tony) & brother Armando Jr. (Julie); her son Emilio & daughter Camilia (Ivan); her stepchildren Jennifer, Stephanie (Jock), Christina (Cameron), & Scott (Megan); her 8 grandchildren Brock, Mia, Benjamin, Kaleias, Brody, Matteo, Catalina, & Gemma.

Cris was the first in the family to get a bachelor's & master's degree (in education). She was an educator for over 40 years with the TUSD & Marana schools, who loved her students & whose students loved her. Cris was kind, giving, healthy, active, social & so well loved. If not among family, she could be found caring for her turtles or among her several friend groups for teaching, bicycling, knitting, playing cards or traveling;  generally enriching all our lives with the joy & love she spread in ours.

For as amazing of a woman as Cris was, she was an even better mom, wife, daughter, aunt, grandmother, sister, cousin & friend. She was absolutely beautiful inside & out, and will be missed fiercely.
