Craig Andrew
Janes
Feb 15, 1968 — Sep 26, 2026
Tucson
Craig Andrew Janes, 58, beloved father and friend, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026. Born on February 15, 1968, in Elko, Nevada, Craig lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and adventure.
Craig grew up in Tucson, Arizona, where he attended St. Michael’s and All Angels Episcopal Day School from kindergarten through 8th grade, then graduated from Sahuaro High School. He later attended the University of Arizona, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communication. Craig was known to be a natural athlete, competing on the varsity tennis and swimming teams in high school. His talent in the pool carried him all the way to the NCAA Division 1 Men’s Swimming Championships and the Olympic Trials, and membership in the A-Club—accomplishments that reflected his passion, dedication and unwavering commitment.
Anyone who knew Craig knew that his heart was even bigger than his list of achievements. His greatest joy in life were his twin children, Cole and Chloe, whom he adored. His love for his children was immeasurable and unconditional—a type of love expressed not only in his words, but in the countless ways he supported, encouraged, and cared for them. His devotion as a father will forever be cherished and remembered by his children.
Some of Craig’s favorite moments were spent enjoying the great outdoors. Craig was known to be an avid fisherman, golfer, hunter, and scuba diver. Whether he was on the water, out on the golf course, or beneath the waves, Craig embraced all of the joys and opportunities life had to offer. To his friends, he was the guy who could turn a day of fishing into a great story, sink a putt with a grin on his face, and always left them smiling with unforgettable memories.
Truly, it was Craig’s friendly demeanor, wonderful sense of humor, and infectious smile that people remember most. He had a way of making those around him feel comfortable, welcome, and right at home. His laughter had a way of filling the room and bringing a smile to everyone's face around him. His warmth and genuine kindness made people simply happy to be in his presence.
Craig is preceded in death by his father, Christopher. He is lovingly remembered and survived by his children, Cole and Chloe; his mother, Elizabeth; his brother, Douglas; his sister, Sandra; his niece, Mackenzie; and his nephew, Aidan.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Craig’s honor on November 1, 2026, at Lakeside Park from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for a memorial bench at Lakeside Park. In honor of Craig and his love of fishing, we invite you to bring your fishing rod and help us celebrate his memory. Please come ready to share stories, laughter, and the joy Craig brought into all of our lives.
Craig Andrew Janes will be deeply missed and forever loved.
