October 18, 1954 – January 11, 2026
Our beloved Connie Tapia Velasco went to be with her Creator, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 11, 2026, at 2:25pm, at home surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico on October 18, 1954, she was the daughter of Julio C. Velasco Beruben and Graciela Solano Riebeling. Connie was the third born of many brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Manuel Tapia, her father and mother, mother-in-law Cleo Tapia, her brother Julio C Velasco, sister-in-law Carolina Velasco, brother-in-law Amador Vasquez. Connie is survived by her children and their spouses: Aurea & Aurelio Galvan, Emanuel & Minerva Tapia, Linda & Nathen Sanchez, Esai & Alejandra Tapia. She leaves behind grandchildren: Arielle, Arianna, Jasmine, Erik, Lori, Emanuel Jr., Ariann, Ariadne, Zuri, Ezekiel, and Alessa. Connie also cherished her siblings, and many loving aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear lifetime friends.
Connie took pride in being a homemaker, raising her children in the ways of the Lord and helping raise her grandchildren. Her greatest accomplishment was accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, being baptized in His name, and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit. She will always be remembered for her selfless and giving soul; her love language was serving others. Connie was known for being a great host and cook, always welcoming others with warmth and generosity.
"Eh peleado la batalla Señor le diré mi carrera al terminar y también he guardado la fe, solo espero me vengas a llevar" – Well done my good and faithful servant.
A celebration of life will be held on January 16th at Agape Christian Fellowship, 5450 S Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706, at 10:00 am, directed by Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary followed by the burial at 12:30 pm at Holy Hope Cemetery.
