With a heavy heart we announce the peaceful passing of Christina Lopez Espinosa on February 24, 2025 at the age of 71. She was born on December 5, 1953 in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico born to her parents father Benjamin G. Lopez and mother Guadalupe H. Lopez.
After a short time in Nogales, Mexico the family moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1962. With her 8 brothers and sisters. Juanita Hurt (Richard), Socorro Gastelum (Jesse), Toni Miranda (Fred), Larry Lopez(Regina), Maria Lourds Lucero, Benjamin Lopez (Rebecca), Claire Lucero (Robert), Sandra Amador and adopted sister Isabel Mena (Manny)
At a young age she taught herself to sew doll clothes to play with the kids in the neighborhood that had Barbie's. In middle school she loved home ec class. and her passion for sewing grew stronger. She was a proud Tucson High school graduate (1973). She took classes at Pima college for fashion design.
Christina was a devoted wife to her husband Michael Albert Espinosa and a devoted mother to her son Adrian Espinosa and daughter Czerina Roman (Salvador) Christina has a granddaughter Sophia Roman who both had a strong bond and the same personality.
Christina was our superwoman. She could fix anything and lift anything. She was a Jack of all trades from sewing, upholstery, piñatas, gardening, cooking, carpentry and fixing appliances.
Christina was a dedicated parishioner at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and was involved with the Guadalupanas, Sacred Heart Society. She helped decorate the church and made flower arrangements for the parish and upholstered the pew kneelers
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Michael Albert Espinosa
As we say our goodbye to this incredible woman. We ask that you continue to pray for us as we try to get through this as a family. This is a new beginning of our faith.
