IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cenaida C.
Duarte
March 23, 1937 – December 20, 2025
Cenaida C. Duarte, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 20th, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born and raised in Tucson Arizona. Cenaida is survived by her husband, Alex "Cano" Duarte; son, Daniel Duarte (Rita Duarte); grandchildren, Adam Duarte (Jessica Duarte) and Amanda Ledezma (Wonder Ledezma); great-grandchildren, Luna Ledezma, Wonder Ledezma, Adán Duarte & Moisés Duarte; brother, Conrad Carrillo. Also survived by nieces, nephews as well as many God children and cousins. Cenaida is preceded in death by her parents, Maria & Conrado Carrillo; her sister, Frances Lucero and half-brother, Oscar Tellez.
She was raised in Barrio Anita where she was a proud member of the Carrillo and Rico families. A gifted athlete, she played various positions in an organized woman's softball team at Oury park. As a young woman she was also a yoyo champion at the Fox Theater. Even as a decorated athlete she carried herself as a classy lady. You would never find her without her hair done, her nails painted or her perfect lipstick. She was a devout Catholic, never missing mass.
Cenaida was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. The life of the party in any social setting, she had many lifelong friendships that she held dear. Cenaida was loved by all who crossed her path. She was kind and loving, always going the extra mile to be present and supportive of everyone and every event she was invited to. Most of all her grandchildren, who she was very proud of. There was never a mariachi performance, soccer game or t-ball game that she didn't attend if she could.
The love her and her husband, Cano, shared was one for the books. Always together, still holding hands and loving one another for over 67 years of marriage.
Cenaida was a strong and caring woman who lived a full beautiful life, filled with family and friends. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
