Carol Ann Evans, 79, passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on September 2,2024. She was born January 25,1945 to Louis and Adelia Salerno in Eastchester, New York. She grew up there and graduated from Maria Regina High School. She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology. She worked in the fashion industry in NYC and also dressed windows for Barney's NYC.
She married Joseph Robert Evans on May 21,1967 at Immaculate Conception church in a beautiful ceremony. They lived in Michigan for three years while Joe was stationed there. They moved back to the Eastchester/ Tuckahoe area where they began their family. She was a devoted wife to Joseph and mother to four children Tanya, Christopher, Suzanne and Eric. Carol was a warm, caring and beautiful person. She was an excellent cook and always seemed to be able to make family dinner for six nightly with ease. She was talented beyond measure with decorating her home and always making it inviting and beautiful.
She later went to work as an art assistant at an elementary school and then as her children were grown became a manager in a local retail shop Dress Barn. Carol and her family relocated to Tucson, Arizona in 1993 where she continued her position within the company of Dress Barn until she retired in 2012. In Tucson, Carol and her family enjoyed many beautiful holidays, sunsets and margaritas!
She is survived by her husband Joseph, her daughter Tanya Kohlenberg (John ), Gilbert, AZ Suzanne Hegarty (Sean), Glendale, AZ and her son Eric Evans (Tina) Tucson. She has four wonderful grandchildren Maya Kohlenberg, Ellie Hegarty, Eric Jr. and Jack Evans.
Her son Christopher Evans of New York, preceded her in death 2009 as well as her sister Elaine Wolf of Virginia. She is also survived by her sister Maria Polo (Florida) and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend a mass at Sacred Heart Church 601 E. Fort Lowell Rd. Tucson, AZ 85705 at 11:00 a.m. on October 11, 2024. There will be a celebration of life to follow at the church hall.
