Carmen L.
Rodriguez
Jun 2, 1935 — May 8, 2026
It is with profound sadness and immense gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Carmen Leyvas Rodriguez, who departed this world peacefully on May 8, 2026, at the age of 90. She was surrounded by her loving family, who were a constant source of joy and pride throughout her life. Carmen was born on June 2, 1935, in the city of Tucson, Arizona, where her journey began and where her heart always remained.
Carmen was a true embodiment of love, resilience, and grace. Her life was a testament to the power of family, and her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and the many generations she nurtured. Predeceased by her husband, Joe Rodriguez, and her cherished children, Michael, Peter, Johnny, and Carmen, as well as grandsons Johnny Rodriguez and Joshua Fletcher, Carmen faced life's greatest challenges with unwavering strength and an indomitable spirit. She is also reunited with her parents and siblings.
Carmen's family tree is a testament to her life's work, and she leaves behind a remarkable legacy. She is survived by her sister, Sally Rincon, and her devoted children: Joe Rodriguez (Dina), Maria Rodriguez (Monchi), Stella Bracamonte (Richard), Santiago Rodriguez (Sandra), Frank Rodriguez (April), Kellie Marie Rodriguez (Isaac), and Frankie Rodriguez (Melissa). Carmen was the proud grandmother of 26 grandchildren, who were the light of her life, and she cherished each of her 68 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren, and counting.
Carmen's life was woven with moments of joy, laughter, and profound love. She had a gift for making everyone feel special and cherished, welcoming all with open arms and an open heart. Her home was a gathering place, filled with laughter, stories, and the aroma of her delicious cooking that brought everyone together. Her wisdom and gentle guidance were freely given, and her love knew no bounds.
Carmen's legacy is one of love, strength, and unity. She taught us the importance of family, the value of community, and the power of kindness. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her and in the stories that will be passed down through the generations.
A celebration of Carmen's life will be held on May 22nd from 1-4pm at the Marine Corps Club on 29th & 5th, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the incredible life she led.
Rest in peace, dear Carmen. You have left an indelible mark on our hearts, and your love will continue to guide us through the days to come.
