IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carmen Borbon
Perez
December 11, 1935 – December 21, 2024
Carmen B. Perez, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister completed her earthly journey to Heaven on December 21, 2024, where she was welcomed by her husband, Miguel (Mike) Perez who preceded her. She lived a life devoted to her faith, family, and life-long friends.
She is survived by her sons, Martin (Josephine), Miguel (Liana) and Marcos (Geraldine); Grandchildren, Nick, Joseph (Kayla), Maricela (Manny), Michael, Martina (Justin) Navarre, Marcos, Alea, and Diego; Great-grandchildren, Evie, Rafael, Benedict, and Eliseo. Also survived by her dear sister, Angie Yrigoyen; sister-in-law, Andrea Borbon; brother-in-law, Frank Spatafore, and numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Born in Tucson, AZ, she grew up in the historic barrios of Tucson where she attended Carrillo Elementary, Safford Junior High and graduated from Tucson High School. She enjoyed successful careers, working for the Veteran's Administration, U.S. Attorney, and U.S. District Court Magistrates office from where she retired in 1990.
Carmen brought joy and warmth to every life she touched. Her caring and resilient spirit was unmatched; she faced every challenge with grace and determination, never letting anything bring her down. She was deeply involved in her family's life, delighting in traditions, and passing them on with love. A talented cook and baker, her kitchen was always filled with the comforting aroma of her cherished recipes. She also had a knack for sewing, needlepoint and crocheting, crafting treasures for family and friends with patience and skill. Her greatest joy, however, came from raising her three sons and supporting her grandchildren's interests, cheering them on at baseball and football games, dance recitals, gymnastics performances, band, and mariachi tocadas. Her presence lit up every event, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and unshakable support.
Her faith in God was a strong foundation in her life. She would regularly attend mass whether in person or online. She was always eager to volunteer at St Augustine Church if her health permitted. She found tremendous comfort in praying at church or with her family. May she find Eternal rest, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Carmen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Miguel Perez Sr.; her parents, Ramon and Eulalia Borbon; two brothers, Ramon and Robert, and sister, Rosa Borbon; Sisters-in-law, Soledad Tarazon, Aurelia Gallego, Juanita Peyron, Angelita Peyron, Maria Spatafore, Lupe, Micaela and Aurora Perez, and Dolores Borbon, Brothers-in-law, Richard Yrigoyen, Steve Gallego, Albert Peyron, and Armando Peyron.
The family would like to thank Casa De La Luz Hospice, particularly her nurses and technicians who visited her weekly, which allowed her sons to honor her wishes to remain in her home until her passing.
