IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carlos Burruel
Valles
June 10, 1936 – October 13, 2022
Carlos Burruel Valles passed away peacefully on 10/13/22 at the age of 86. Carlos was born on June 10, 1936, to Refugio (Cuca Burruel) and Francisco (Guero) Valles.
Carlos joined the US Army during the Korean War and served as a Medic. Unfortunately, during his time in the Army, he developed Epilepsy and was medically discharged. Tio Carlos was very proud of his service in the Army. After serving as a medic, he had planned on going to medical school to be a doctor, but his epilepsy became so severe it prevented him from attending college.
He was an avid gymnast and weightlifter; he even had his own gym in the backyard. I remember use kids sitting in the back yard and watching him with amazement. He also loved photography, journaling about his time in the army and his travels, he collected rocks which he turned into art and was an avid woodworker. He loved spending time with and teaching and sharing all his hobbies with his nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews and great-great nieces & nephews. He also enjoyed cooking and Oh! And he made the best chorizo ever!!!!!
Tio Carlos was a very caring and very protective uncle to us all and just like his two brothers David and Frankie was like a father to all of us kids.
Carlos is proceeded in death by his parents Refugio and Francisco, sisters Carmen (DuVall), Elidia (Gastelum), Clara (Grimaldo) and brothers Frankie and David.
Rest In peace Tio, we love you and we will miss you.
