Beatrice "Bea" Leon was born in Sonora, Mexico. As a teen she moved to Nogales, Arizona then to Tucson. Bea attended Tucson High (Class of '56) where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband Alex. She was a proud member of Club Mavis where she made many dear friends. Later she would become a member of the League of Mexican American Women. While raising a family of five she proudly earned her United States citizenship and worked at Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) as a Health Clerk for over 20 years. She cherished spending time with family, dancing, endlessly reading, enjoying her pets and plants. Her favorite past time was watching "The Price is Right" and playing Bingo. Bea loved spending time with her devoted husband Alex, especially their many road trips to visit family in California and traveling to different states. She also enjoyed spending time with her brother in-laws and their children, camping trips, family and holiday get-togethers. She had a strong faith in God and was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Parish for over 60 years.

Bea is survived by her children, Liz (David), Cindy (Michael), Kat, Jackie (Rene) and Alex, her 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, and sister Irma. Preceded in death by her great grandson David, beloved husband, Alex, parents Juan and Socorro, in-laws Julian and Lupita. She will always be remembered for her loving presence, quick-wit, selflessness and spirit of giving. She taught her children to see and appreciate the beauty of the world around them, how to be kind, compassionate and respectful to others. Her legacy will continue to live through future generations and she will be greatly missed.
