Annamarie A Arenas's Obituary

On Saturday, December 19, 2020, Annamarie Arenas, our loving Sister, and Aunt, passed away at the age of 65.  Covid and its associated complications took Annamarie from us.  The loss of Anna took us all by surprise as we had prayed for her recovery.  Covid is a virus that must be taken seriously, and it has taken too many loved ones before their time.

Annamarie was a graduate of Tucson High School and always a Badger.  Later in life she completed her bachelor's degree in business.  After high school Anna started working for the City of Tucson at the Water department, and over the 33 years she was there she succeeded in her career as a Superintendent.

Anna retired from the Water department to help take care of her ailing mother after her father passed.  During this time, Anna volunteered at various organizations, including American Legion Auxiliary Posts 73 and 59, and the Arizona State Veterans Home.

Annamarie was preceded in death by her Daughter Maria Suzana, Father Rudolph, Mother Estella, and Sisters Ruth and Mary Helen.  She is survived by her Sister Evelyn, Brother Rudy (Carole), Fiancée Arturo, along with many nephews, nieces, and close friends that she cared for like family.  Anna's love and caring extended beyond the family for Carmine, Joseph Leon, Steve and Delissa.

Our family would like to make a plea to everyone – in Annamarie's memory; Covid is real and needs everyone to take precautions by wearing a mask and socially distancing.  If these simple things are followed, other families will not have to experience this illness and loss.

Due to the current Covid environment, and in respect for Annamarie, a viewing and funeral is not advisable at this time due to the contagiousness of this virus.  Anna would not want any event for her to become an opportunity for this virus to spread.

A memorial service will be held for Anna, and open to all when it is possible to have large gatherings.
