Anita R. Castillo

January 3, 1918 - July 28, 2021

Anita R. Castillo, the matriarch of a large family passed away peacefully in her home at 103 years old surrounded by her family. A loving wife of 55 years, a proud mother of 7 children, and a blessed Nana to 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, husband Jose C. Castillo, son-in-law Manny Murrieta, grandson Gabriel Yturralde, and great grandsons Tommy J. Solis and Mason Aldecoa.

Survived by her children Joe (Happy) Castillo, Cecilia Murrieta, Norma (Walter) Yturralde, Frank (Rosie) Castillo, Irene (Moses) Gonzales, Hector (Lucy) Castillo and LaVern (Diana) Castillo.

On Monday, August 9, 2021 a viewing at 8am followed by a rosary at 9am will be held in the South Chapel at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary at 240 S. Stone Avenue . Mass to be celebrated at 11am at St. Margaret Mary Church at 801 N. Grande Avenue . Anita will be laid to rest next to her husband at Holy Hope Cemetery at 3555 N. Oracle Road .

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all of Anita's caregivers for their loving care over the years, as well as Haven Hospice for their support.
