Obituary

Ana Jolly, 71, of Sahuarita, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Ana was born on July 30, 1954, in Douglas, Arizona, to Manuel and Georgina Arvizu. At the age of eight, her family moved to Tucson, where she would build a life deeply rooted in faith, family, friendship, and community.

In 1976, Ana married the love of her life, John S. Jolly, beginning a beautiful 50-year journey together filled with love, laughter, resilience, and devotion to family. Together they built a life centered around caring for others and creating lasting memories with those they loved most.

Ana was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She dedicated more than 30 years to working for Tucson Unified School District, where she found great joy in the relationships she built with coworkers, students, and families over the years. She was known for her warmth, kindness, and the way she made people feel welcomed and cared for.

She found happiness in life’s simple joys — decorating for the holidays, listening to oldies music, reading mystery novels, sharing chocolate treats, and spending time with family. Ana had a vibrant spirit, a loving heart, and a quiet strength that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Ana is lovingly remembered by her husband, John S. Jolly; her children, Justin Jolly and Celina Jolly; her grandchildren, Eleanor, Charles, George, and James; her siblings, Manuel, Joseph "Joe", and Maria “Lupe”; her godchildren, Francisco Valencia and Sebastian Durazo; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She is now reunited in eternal peace with her parents; her sisters, Ysela, Martha, Esther, and Teresa; and her brother, Raymond.

Her family and friends will forever cherish her kindness, generosity, humor, and the love she shared so freely throughout her life.

Services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m., followed by the Rosary at 8:30 a.m. at Carrillo Tucson Mortuary. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Cathedral. A reception will follow later that day at a location to be announced.

May her memory be a blessing, and may her loved ones find comfort in the beautiful life she lived.

Que en paz descanse. 💜
