Born in Tucson, Arizona Territory on December 23, 1911 to Manuela and Cruz Peralta.
Widow of Fernando Zepeda III who predeceased her in 2006.
Preceded in death by sisters, Mary and Estella;
daughter,Yanula Henson.
Survived by sons, Fernando Zepeda and Guillermo Zepeda (Dora Escalante); seven grandchildren, F. Cruz Zepeda - Denver, Rita (Ty Lebsack) - Tucson, Paloma (Moises Ahmadi) - New York City, Sofia Zepeda - Tucson, "Gilly" Zepeda (Carol) - Tucson, George Henson - Washington, County Arkansas, Oscar Henson (Lanette) - Washington County Arkansas. Also survived by eight great- grandchildren and three great-great-grandsons.
Alice suffered debilitating burns to her feet and legs as a child during the Spanish Influenza as a result of folk medicine preventative measures. Bedridden for over a year and despite having to learn to walk once again, ran track and hurdles at Tucson High School, from which she graduated in 1927. She was one of first two female police officers, and also interpreter and secretary to the Chief, TPD. She was a voracious reader, traveled world-wide with her husband including an auto trip from the Panama Canal Zone to Tucson. Volunteer work included teaching English, including to the families of Chinese students at the U of A. She was a lifelong member of Republican party. Until a week before her death she resided in Tucson at her home of 56 years.
