Alberto M. Castro of Tucson, Az died on November 8, 2023.  He was 79. He was born in Dos Cabezas, Az on September 18, 1944 to parents Rosendo O Castro and Julia Montano Castro. The family moved to Douglas in 1950 and he grew up there. He is the 4th oldest of 9 children. Predeceased by his parents and brother, Rafael Montano (Socorro Friend).

Survived by his wife, Maria Elena Valencia Castro; her children, Luis Valencia (Monica Encinas), Jose Antonio Valencia, Denise Cuesta (Eric); his daughters, Nicole Denise Kittelson and Maria Estella Figueroa. Also survived by siblings, Manuel Castro (Maria Elha Bermudez), Francisco Castro (Anna Barcelo), Rogelio Castro (Yolanda Gutierrez), Gilberto Castro (Maria Estrada), Gloria Ahumada (Hector), Ruben Castro (Juanita Guthrie), Dora Castro, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at St. Augustine Cathedral,192 S. Stone Ave Tucson, Az.  85701, on December 8, 2023 beginning with a Rosary at 9:30am and mass at 10:00am. A procession to South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S. Park Ave Tucson, Az 85706, where a Military Honor Guard will receive him, honor him, and will be laid to rest with other Veterans. A celebration of life to follow at Kaycee Event Center, 601 S. Tucson Boulevard, Tucson AZ.

Alberto was a colorful character and lived an interesting and adventurous life.
