Adeline Sylvia Sandoval was born June 9th 1942 in Long Beach, California. Adeline was fondly known as Lena or Addie by those who loved her. Lena's family moved to Tucson when she was a little girl. Lena and her sister, Theresa enjoyed stargazing from their front porch as children. She is a graduate of Tucson High School. Adeline married Raymond (Ray) Abasta shortly thereafter on her 20th birthday. Lena and Ray welcomed two children, Raymond and Marie. Lena was a working mother and homemaker who adored her children. When Marie and Raymond got older she began a 30 year career as a legal secretary full-time. Lena enjoyed dancing. Adeline and Ray went out regularly to dance. She was exceptional at the mashed potato, the most popular dance during the 1960's.

Lena also enjoyed family get togethers, travel, classic films, Mexican food, and chocolate. Lena's sweet tooth rivaled the sweetness of her heart. Lena and her husband Ray had a long and happy marriage of six decades. Raymonds death in 2015 preceded her passing. Lena loved her family deeply especially her granddaughters who became the light of her twilight years as well as her caregivers. Her big heart extended to her nieces and nephews whom she often visited in Central Arizona and California.

She leaves behind her children, Marie Tackett (William) and Raymond Abasta (Liberty); her beloved granddaughters, Emma (17) and Jayden (14); sister, Theresa Yourgulez; brother, Bobby Erickson and a plethora of nieces and nephews including great nieces and nephews.

She is surely in Heaven dancing the mashed potato with her husband while nibbling on a box of chocolates.
