died in Duarte, CA, January 15, 2015. Born in Dublin February 2, 1918 to Patrick Joseph and Catherine McArdle. His brothers and sisters were Dolly, Ben, Martha and "Paddy." Rev. McArdle is survived by loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Rev. McArdle entered the Discalced Carmelite Order in Belgium 1935 at 17. Ordained a priest July 11, 1943, Father did mission work in India before coming to the U.S. in 1945. He was sent to Tucson in 1947, and was later pastor of Santa Cruz Parish 1961-64. In 1965-75 he served the Diocese of Boise, and from there at the Carmelite house Oakville, CA in the Napa Valley. In the late 70's he was pastor at St. Christopher Parish Marana for ten years. Later, he was again at Sta. Cruz Parish before going to St. Margaret Mary Parish in 1996. Due to illness he moved to Sta. Teresita Manor Duarte in 2011. While at Santa Cruz, he formed the Knights of the Altar altar servers, which at one time had 100 members. For over thirty years, Fr. Kevin went yearly to visit with the Dr. Luis Martinez family Ensenada, Mexico. Along with presiding religious events there, he helped raise funds to build one of the cathedral towers, as well as help for the Perpetual Adoration Sisters of that city. Fr. Kevin was known as a traveler in early years, fluent in 7 languages, extremely witty, cultured, lover of good books, food, and wine. He most dearly loved God, and was devoted to faith, family, and friends.
